The Bloody Truth Part 1

The Bloody Truth about being a Women is not all the glitz and glam you see on the red carpet!

Being a girl can be tough... over the past several months my monthly visitor has been really tough and I have the dry cleaning services to prove it!

Yes... you read that correctly! It says "blood between legs" You know what that means!

I just had to laugh at it and take a picture... then sent it to hubs, my mom and my sisters! I know they will all understand (Hubs hears me complain and see the messy laundry, he even gets the dry cleaning)

I also laugh because it sums up all I have gone through in the past month! I was recently diagnosed with Endometriosis, which means changing up some of my diet and having even more of a reason to do so!

All in all... God is in Control not me! Did you know since the Fall of Eve, Women struggle with being In Control of our lives! Well as the blood stain is also a fall of Eve it is a reminder that I am not in Control as much as I would like to be!

How do you know?

When making a decision... how do you know what is right? Sometimes, I wish that God would give me a crystal ball or a lighted sign! While I was dating hubs and would fret over if we would marry or not, my mom would always say... I dont have a crystal ball! HA! This I know!

I worry a lot sometimes... and in those times wish I did have that Crystal ball, but then I ask myself... why would we need faith or trust? How would we grow? So in these times, I am trusting that I will have an answer and it will be of God and from God!

On another note... Did you know Cabbage is so HEALTHY and so CHEAP! I am obssessed with it!

1 Cup of chopped Cabbage has 35 calories and is packed I mean packed with goodness!

It is good source of Protein, Thiamin, Calcium, Phosphorus and Copper, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Folate, Magnesium, Potassium and Manganese.

My favorite way of preparing cabbage is just sauted, but there are great soup recipes and I thing cabbage rolls are yummy too!

The Day After...

Last Night was a wonderful celebration for Hubs and I! We celebrated our Love for each other and our love for food! It was AWESOME!

I have been looking forward to Valentines Day for a few reasons, one of them being I was going to eat dessert! I haven't had any since January 1. So in anticipation I have been dreaming of what I would want. Ha! Well I really wanted something chocolaty gooey topped with ice cream!

Hubs had dinner reservations at a surprise location... It was so fun! Here comes the true confession... I had my yummy gooey chocolate at the restaurant then we drove through McDonald's for my yummy Ice Cream Cone!!! It was amazing...

The day after... Not so much! I feel like a big puff ball! Sugar always bloats me right up!!! YUCK

But... it was well worth it! I call that Balance! The ability to enjoy things in moderation that are not great for you!

So the day after if filled with veggies and healthy goodness!

Happy Valentines Day!

 1 corinthians 13: 4-8

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
 8 Love never fails.

Life Is Beautiful!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... I think this is such a great statement! Often times we live life trying to be like someone else or trying to live up to others standards instead of just enjoying life and being who we were created to be!

Life is Beautiful! What makes your life Beautiful... Your LIFE not someone elses! Today what makes my life beautiful is working till noon, going to the grocery store and then going home to BAKE!!! I love to Bake I love the process, I love experimenting, I love the batter, and I love the final product (most of the time)

Today I am going to try and make a apple cinnamon wheat bread! Sounds Yummo!

I will post the recipe... it will be an experiment for sure!

Life is Beautiful!!! Make your life Beautiful with something to fill your cup to energize you and to give you JOY!

What fills your Cup?

If our cup is not full how can we give? Pretty simple question, but most of us are running on empty! My mom told me today that we need to schedule time at the filling station so we are not running on empty. SO TRUE! Your car wont get very far on E! So why do we make ourselves run on E!

What fills your CUP? Here is what fills mine...

1. Prayer and Worship Times
2. Baking
3. Going out to eat with Hubs
4. Working out
5. Pampering (Pedicure, Massage, Facial)
6. Girls Night

Now that you know what fills your cup, schedule it in  your calendar! NOW!!! Do it! you will thank yourself for the time later!

Confidence!

What do you put your confidence in? Great question and I am not sure I know what my answer is...

I know putting my confidence in the Lord is the most valuable and we are called to Fear Not and have confidence! Annie does a great job explaining Godly Confidence in Loving God The Most Her last comment explains the importance of having Godly confidence and Self-Confidence. She says "they go hand in hand"

I know when my confidence isn't going hand in hand with Godly confidence... it is when I begin to believe that God did not create me perfectly. It is when I begin to believe lies that I need to fit a mold or be just like someone else. It is when I begin to listen to media and get too wrapped up in it.

I know I have Godly confidence when my focus is on the Lord. When my focus is on a eternal perspective and when I know I am loved for who I am inside. For who I am and for who God created me to be!

PS... BBQ meatball sammy was a hit... I roasted some Brusselsprouts to go a long with them! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Brusselsprouts!

Hubs and I are planning a House Warming Party and we met with our caterer last night... Food is going to be ROCKIN!!!! We are splitting duties and I cant wait to start our cooking week... Next week!

Whats for Dinner?

I think this is my favorite question to answer! Coming up with healthy food options bring be so much joy! I believe it is a God given passion that I can use to glorify HIM daily! What is a passion of yours? Do you use it to glorify the Lord?

So what is for dinner?

Last night I made Turkey Meat Balls and Black Bean Falafal Balls! Yummy (BB for me, I'm trying to go VEG as much as possible for health reasons)

Basically just added sauteed mushrooms, onion, spinach, and rosemary to each, plus one egg. Formed into balls and baked at 400 for 30 min!

We have a crazy busy week so I plan is to incorporate them into dinner tonight and tomorrow for a fast Yummy meal!

Here are my 3 ways...

Sunday Night: Super Bowl Style... Plain with several dips (mustard, cranberry, tomato, hot sauce)
Monday Night: BBQ open face sandwich on Great Harvest Bread
Tuesday Night: Tomato Rague and quick cooking Polenta

Enjoy your Passion today!

Feel Great Weight and Peace!

This morning I had a great bible study time with my girls learning about Peace of God! Comforting topic!

Over great conversation and study I enjoyed my go to breakfast (Oatmeal, banana, and TJ PB) and a lovely cup of Pikes Place at Starbucks

Peace is a wonderful thing when it comes from God... it surpasses all understanding. For many women Peace is not something we experience when it comes to weight its more of an unjoyful love hate relationship of Good Foods vs Bad Foods. Followed by guilt or temporary pat on the back.

Finding balance in the entire food, weight, body image category is hard... but God can give you the peace and balance that surpasses all understanding... so you reach your Feel Great Weight! Gods Weight he has for you!

It is something to pray about and to ask for understanding. A diet of Peace and Balance will look different for everyone.

For me is eating Natural foods with an occasional celebration feast (not so healthy options) and no guilt but the enjoyment of friends, family, and the situation or celebration!

Enjoy! Find Peace!

Today's Main Ingredient is AVOCADO... YUM! I will take you any way! Sliced, Salted, Mashed, Chunky, Smooth!

Avocados are not only one of the healthiest foods you can eat, I personally think they are the yummiest food you can eat!

I am really trying to add more Omega 3 fatty acids to my diet and Avocados are chalked full of them!

Here are reasons why I am eating Avocados, besides the fact that they taste so dare good!

1. Lower Cholesterol
2. Lower risk of Many Cancers
3. Good Source of Potassium
4. Super Food (Real Simple February Issue)
5. 23% of your daily value of folate
6. Help reduce Belly Fat
7. Can reduce heart disease

10. They taste so YUMMY!

Last night I had sliced avocado and tonight is guacamole! I cant wait....

Dip your Guac with home made baked corn chips
