Broken---But with a Warranty!

Today is a TRAGIC day! I BROKE the VITAMIX! If you know me and hubs we LOVE LOVE LOVE our Vitamix! I use it every  morning to make Hubs a Smoothie! (its my favorite part of my day, PS) Well this morning it cracked, banana and milk spraying everywhere! I couldn't believe it! My heart sunk!

Luckily it comes with a 7 year warranty! Even better the nice Manager Kathryn and William Sonoma is replacing it for free tomorrow! I just have to bring in the broken one!

It made me think about yesterday and when I am broken... I just have to bring myself to the Lord and he will fix me! He gives me an eternal warranty! He says he forgives 7x70! Beat that Vitamix!

It is a great day!

TBT #3

Hormones...BLAH!

I don't really understand how hormones in a women's body work, but I do know its not good, when they are not working together!

I think hormones and the effects they have on a women, is something that a man just doesn't understand (even Doctors) It is just different when you experience hormones being off balance...

As a women who is going through hormonal complications, I feel robbed of womanhood... I don't know why exactly, but I think it is because it is tied into our child barring and nurturing tendencies. We were made with this natural instinct and when hormones get messed up so do our emotions and who we know ourselves to be.

It is a very interesting subject... complicated! Each women is different, but what is consistent is that we have Jesus on our side to guide us and he understand more than anyone what is going on. He orchestrates each day and knows every intricate detail! So I will rest in that truth today!

God is Good!

Fitness Funness!

I don't think Funness is a word... but I am going with it, because sometimes it is just FUN to make up a new word! I was thinking I haven't blogged about fitness in a long time, what have I been thinking? Fitness is a HUGE passion of mine and I believe it should be FUN (most of the time)

So ask yourself...
What activities are fun?
What can I do to entice myself to work out?
What do I feel cute in when going to the gym?
What is comfortable to work out in?

Enjoy and have fun with fitness! It can be a variety of things... even mall walking aka window shopping :)

Cooking for the Masses!

I Love baking and cooking... the only thing better than baking and cooking is cooking with my mom and/or hubs! Which made yesterday a FANTASTIC DAY!

My parents, hubs and I made lunch for about 300 people... yes you read that right not 3 not 30... 300!

It was a joy! what was on the menu?

Chicken Cordon bleu--- who doesn't love Chicken wrapped around ham and cheese, rolled in bread crumbs and baked till bubbling hot cheese!

Green Beans---Steamed in Chicken broth and Garlic topped with toasted Almonds!

Fingerling Potato's--- Roasted in Olive Oil and Organic Veggie spices

Beautiful Salad (my favorite)--- mixture of roman and Bib lettuce tossed with avocado, feta, tomato's, and red peppers (I perfected chopping a tomato and red pepper)

Dessert--- a selection of mini sweets perfect to top of a high energy lunch!

My body is dead, my mom feels like she was hit by a truck, dad is on caffeine high, hubs was zonked out in front of the TV... I think we deserve some R&R! Today I am getting a massage!

I also made hubs energy bars this morning...Recipe to come!

TBT part 2

TBT (The Bloody Truth)

I found out my dad is reading my blog... HA! He was alittle disgusted by part 1. He sympathizes with me though!

TBT Part 2 is about the new diet I get to embark and honestly its not much different than I have always eaten. I really believe God designed our bodies to know what we need and what we don't need. I am amazed how similar I desire to eat and an Endometriosis diet are. I am only having to make a few small changes and watch for hidden ingredients (who knew soy was in Olive Oil cooking Spray! Thanks Kelli)

Endo Diet

1. Lots of Raw Fruits and Vegetables---Check
2. No Animal Fat---I have never been a big meat eater
3. No Soy---I used to drink Soy Milk then it started making me feel nauseous so stopped---PTL
4. No Wheat---This is the one struggle but hasn't been bad (I am allowed about 1slice of wheat bread/day)
5. No Sugar---Check (I try to keep this in balance, but I really don't eat much sugar)
6. Any whole grain except wheat (Barley, Quinoa, Brown Rice, Corn)--Check
7. Lentils and Beans--YUMMY
8. Its debatable about Dairy---so for now fat free milk and yogurt will stay but in minimal quantities
9. Omega 3's---Check ---give me some avocado and salmon!

I haven't found this diet too difficult! The only somewhat of a challenge is healthy meat free options when eating out and no wheat. I am allowing myself lean meats when its the healthiest option, but when at home it probably wont make its way to my mouth.

:-) Have a Great Day!

Fact vs. Feeling

I feel fat... I feel tired....I feel sad....I feel ___________

feeling is a word that we use a lot and place high value on the word. We use the word feel in many statements, lending the statement to imply Truth.

For example... we say I feel fat or I feel like I am gaining weight. Well the fact of gaining weight is proven by a scale. It is not a feeling.

Example: I feel useless the fact might be you are very useful, but the reward is not proving your use to you.

Fact and Feeling is something us as women need to strive to tell the difference between. It means we need to stop and evaluate our feelings... are they valid or are they just that a feeling with nothing to back it up.

Yes, often times our feelings are valid. the feeling of sadness because you were hurt by a friend or you lost your job, or maybe you are gaining weight. All of those can cause sadness. That is when we can cry out and pray!

But don't allow your feelings to control you or falsify judgement about yourself. When in question ask someone you trust to help you distinguish the difference.

PS....The bloody truth part 2 will come soon!
