Weekend of FUN!!!

This past weekend was a whirlwind... but nonetheless it was packed full of FUN

Family time at the lake
Unforgettable memories with friends
Nap time on Sunday

Thursday night Hubs and I headed to the Lake and  had a fun date night at a restaurant called Boathouse. Friday my parents joined us. We spend the day relaxing! That evening we went to a movie The Help... it was GREAT! Sad, GREAT! Then finished the evening with a YUMMY Meal downtown Mason City at the Quarry! I had one of the best meals I have had in a long time!

Saturday with Unforgettable FUN for my friends Bachelorette Party... About 25 girls came to celebrate! We enjoyed some pre-dinner festivities then headed to my favorite restaurant Dos Rios and were SPOILED by a great waiter! After din din, it was game and gift time! Which lead to a much needed Sunday Nap! Girls were at my house till 2am... that is pretty much 5 hours past my bedtime! YIKES! Here a pic of my friend Brooke and her little Sis Kaity... She a good looking Bride! I cant wait for the wedding this coming weekend.

After a great nap Sunday, I went for a run to the lake where I met Hubs! We came home and finished the day with a long walk and dinner!

It was definitely a FUN and EVENTFUL weekend!

Celebration Night!

I got home last night and was welcomed with a VERY NICE SURPRISE from Hubs!... Babe, lets celebrate tonight! It was official that I am a licensed counselor! He made me feel so special and loved all night long! We started with appetizers at one of our favorite restaurants Centro! It is always a go to staple in our house! We split an order of fried Brussels sprouts with truffle oil (Brussels sprouts are healthy!). Hubs and I L-O-V-E truffle oil... maybe as much as we love each other! After apps we headed to 801 Chophouse! It was a real treat! Yes, it is a nice expensive steak house to most people... but to me it is so much more! My grandparents and parents would always go to 801 when we were growing up and the kids were left at home with pizza... well not last night! My husband spoiled me rotten!

We started with splitting a Garbage salad. We both loved it! Description from menu...

Garbage Salad
Romaine lettuce, Maytag blue cheese crumbles,
hearts of palm, tomato, English cucumber,
calamata olives, pepperoncinis, salami,
Champagne Dijon vinaigrette dressing,
and a jumbo shrimp

Then moved on to our entrees

Halibut for the Lady, topped with grapefruit and avocado, on top of a bed of watercress, drizzled with grapefruit oil... Mouth watering!

Seared Ahi Tuna for the Gentleman, topped with a carrot slaw, along with a delightful soy glaze... wasabi and ginger on the side!

We finished the evening with a Strawberry Rhubarb Tart and Vanilla bean ice cream! It looked too good and I forgot a picture! Whoops!

The night was PERFECT!!!!! We kept asking the waiter if we could take our time... we just wanted to sit and enjoy! The night might not have been the healthiest night ever, but it sure was a celebration! I will be eating healthy today!

Life Is Beautiful!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... I think this is such a great statement! Often times we live life trying to be like someone else or trying to live up to others standards instead of just enjoying life and being who we were created to be!

Life is Beautiful! What makes your life Beautiful... Your LIFE not someone elses! Today what makes my life beautiful is working till noon, going to the grocery store and then going home to BAKE!!! I love to Bake I love the process, I love experimenting, I love the batter, and I love the final product (most of the time)

Today I am going to try and make a apple cinnamon wheat bread! Sounds Yummo!

I will post the recipe... it will be an experiment for sure!

Life is Beautiful!!! Make your life Beautiful with something to fill your cup to energize you and to give you JOY!

What fills your Cup?

If our cup is not full how can we give? Pretty simple question, but most of us are running on empty! My mom told me today that we need to schedule time at the filling station so we are not running on empty. SO TRUE! Your car wont get very far on E! So why do we make ourselves run on E!

What fills your CUP? Here is what fills mine...

1. Prayer and Worship Times
2. Baking
3. Going out to eat with Hubs
4. Working out
5. Pampering (Pedicure, Massage, Facial)
6. Girls Night

Now that you know what fills your cup, schedule it in  your calendar! NOW!!! Do it! you will thank yourself for the time later!
